Our managerial staff includes:
Donald P. Blasland, President and Secretary, Laboratory and Field Services
Manager. His association began with Parratt-Wolff, Inc. in 1974. Don has
been past President of the American Concrete Institute of Central New
York. He is an Associate of Asphalt paving Technologists, Society of
American Military Engineers; American Society of Engineering Technicians;
American Public Works Association, New York Chapter; (NEAUPG)
Northeast Asphalt User/Producer; National Instate of Certified Engineering
Technicians – Level IV Senior (Managing) Engineering Technician in the
field of Asphalt, Soils and Concrete; he also holds membership in:
American Concrete Instate – National and the American Society for Testing
and Materials (ASTM) for which he serves on number of sub-committees.
He is the Radiation Safety Officer for PW Laboratories, Inc. Don has been
an invited Instructor at the FAA Eastern Region Annual Airport Conference
on six occasions.
Virginia (Ginny) J. Thoma, Laboratory and Office Manager, has been
associated with us since 1984. She is Certified by the National Institute for
Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) as Engineering
Technician; Level IV, Qualified by the FAA's Eastern Region to perform
acceptance testing on airport projects; Troxler Nuclear Density Gauge
Safety Course.
Christopher S. Brown, Supervising Field Inspector, joined the firm in 1993.
He is Certified by the American Concrete Institute as a Grade I Field
Technician and is also Certified by the National Institute for Certification in
Engineering Technologies as an Engineering Technician, Level II in the
field of Construction Material Testing; Level II in the field of Asphalt; Level II
in the field of Soils; Level II in the field of Concrete. He is certified in the use
of the Nuclear Moisture-Density Gauge and has an EIT Certificate
(Engineering in Training).
